NORTH MIAMI, November 23, 2020 – Carevive Systems, a leading oncology-focused technology company, has been selected as Pfizer’s (NYSE:PFE) first Patient-Reported Outcomes (PRO) Challenge winner. The Pfizer PRO Challenge is designed to identify innovative PRO-centric platforms and technologies that can provide novel patient-centric support & insight mechanisms for cancer patients. Pfizer’s Digital Innovation Lab presented Carevive with the PRO Challenge award based on demonstrated experience with oncology PROs, proven partnership capabilities, and success in supporting value-based contracting models.
Carevive’s end-to-end digital oncology solution is designed to improve patient clinical outcomes and experiences while on cancer treatment. This PRO technology, Carevive PROmpt®, ensures treatment decisions are patient-centered, using remote symptom monitoring tools and care plans that are disease, treatment, and patient-specific. Carevive has built data and workflow integration and clinical decision support tools to identify side effects early and address them proactively. This active surveillance can mitigate avoidable hospitalizations and expenditures and allows cancer centers to succeed in value-based arrangements with payers. Data insights are used for continuous practice improvement.
Initially, the collaboration with Pfizer will focus on developing PRO-based longitudinal datasets to uncover insights along the cancer patient journey to support value-based agreements. To generate these data and insights, Carevive will work within its growing network of 26 health system customers, including sites that are participating in the Carevive Oncology Pragmatic Trial Investigator Network (Carevive OPT-IN®).
Madelyn Trupkin Herzfeld, Co-Founder and CEO of Carevive said, “We are so excited to have been selected as Pfizer’s first-ever PRO Challenge winner. It is a testament to the strength of our team, our health system partners, and the technology we have built, which we have tested and implemented in cancer centers around the country for close to a decade. We are looking forward to working with leaders across Pfizer to design and implement personalized solutions for unmet patient needs that will change the face of cancer care.
