Dr. Joanne Lester is a Clinical Research Nurse Practitioner of the Division of Surgical Oncology, and a Senior Researcher at The Ohio State University. She has extensive experience in oncology nursing and nursing education, with special focus in breast cancer, high-risk breast management, and survivorship. Dr. Lester is an active member of the Oncology Nursing Committee of the Alliance, a Legacy member of the previous Cancer & Leukemia Group B (CALBG), Oncology Nursing Society, and Cancer Clinical Scientific Review Committee, and Breast Disease Specific Committees of the OSUCCC – James Cancer Hospital. Her research focus is in the area of survivorship, specifically breast cancer and symptom management, including her National Comprehensive Cancer Network-funded study of distress in acute leukemia and breast cancer survivors. She has been a long-standing collaborator on Dr. Lisa Yee’s clinical trials in breast cancer and high risk.
